Privacy Policy
How Jobyard collects, uses, and protects the information of contractors and their clients.
Last updated: August 26, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how [Jobyard legal entity name] (“Jobyard,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Jobyard websites, applications, and services (the “Service”).
It applies to the account holders and team members who use Jobyard and to the client information those users store in the Service.
2. Information we collect
Account information: your name, email address, company name, and login credentials when you sign up or are invited.
Business content you enter: estimates, jobs, clients and contacts, schedules, time entries (including GPS location captured at clock-in), receipts and files, and invoices.
Usage and device information: log data such as IP address, browser type, and actions taken, which we use to operate and secure the Service.
3. How we use information
To provide and maintain the Service, authenticate you, and keep each organization's data separated and secure.
To send transactional messages you or your clients expect — for example bid links, estimate and invoice follow-ups, and account notices.
To improve reliability and features, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
4. Location data
When a crew member clocks in, the Service records the device's GPS location at that moment to verify field time. This is used for job costing and timekeeping within the member's organization and is not sold.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service: with service providers that host our infrastructure, send our email, and (when paid plans begin) process payments, each under obligations to protect it.
Client-facing documents, such as a bid or invoice, are shared only through the links you choose to send. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period afterward as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes. [Confirm specific retention periods with counsel.]
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can access and update most of your information within the Service. You may request a copy or deletion of your personal information by contacting us, subject to legal and contractual limits. [Confirm any state or regional privacy-rights obligations with counsel.]
9. Children
The Service is intended for business use and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
