Job vs. Project: the same thing at two points in its life. A Job is anything in the pipeline; the moment its estimate is accepted it becomes a Project you can schedule, bill, and cost.

How Jobyard works

From the first bid to the final payment — the same day-to-day loop for every job you take on.

  1. 1

    Add the client & job

Start a bid, pick or add the client, and name the job with its site.

  2. 2

    Build the estimate

Add catalog line items, then build a private cost breakdown behind each with built-in calculators. The client's bid stays clean.

  3. 3

Send it & get it signed

Email a branded bid; the client reviews and e-signs online, or you attach a signed contract.

  4. 4

    It becomes a project

An accepted bid turns the job into an active project, ready to schedule and bill. Change orders are just child estimates.

  5. 5

    Schedule the crew

Drag the project onto the calendar, staff it with crew, and email each person their week.

  6. 6

    Track the field

Crew clock in and out with GPS and snap receipts against the job from their phone; the office reviews and approves.

  7. 7

    Bill by progress

Bill each line by percent or dollar as work completes, send the invoice, and record payments as they come in.

  8. 8

    Collect & close out

Automated reminders chase unpaid balances; jobs paid in full archive themselves.

Two views of the same job

Office and admin run the business side; crew get a stripped-down, no-pricing view built for the jobsite.

Questions, answered

How much does it cost?

Jobyard is free while we're in private beta. You'll get plenty of notice before any paid plan starts.

Do I have to move all my data in first?

No. Start one bid on your next job and go from there — nothing to migrate up front.

Will my crew be able to use it?

Yes. Crew get a stripped-down phone view: clock in with GPS and snap receipts against a job. They never see pricing.

Does it work with my accountant?

Export customers, invoices, payments, and a P&L as QuickBooks-ready CSVs whenever you need them.

Is my data private?

Your company's data is walled off to your company. Client bids are shared only by the links you send.
